This Privacy Policy explains how bold handles information when you use the bold mobile application and related services.

01

Information we collect

Information you provide

If you send feedback from bold, we receive the message, category, rating, language, app version, and platform you submit. An email address is optional and is only collected when you choose to include it so we can follow up.

If you create your own practice scripts, those scripts are stored locally on your device in the current version of the app.

Recordings and device permissions

bold requests camera and microphone access only when you use a recording mode that needs it. Your audio and video recordings are processed and saved locally on your device when you choose to save them. The current version of bold does not upload your recordings to our servers.

You can deny or revoke camera, microphone, and media-library permissions in your device settings. You can also delete saved recordings from within the app.

Usage and diagnostic information

We collect limited information about how the app is used, such as screens viewed, buttons selected, language, recording mode, recording duration, and script metadata. This information helps us understand product usage and improve bold. Analytics events are not intended to include the content of your recordings or scripts.

We may receive crash reports and diagnostic information, such as error details and app/device context, to identify and fix technical problems.

02

How we use information

We use information to

provide and operate bold; save and play back practice content on your device; respond to feedback when you provide contact details; understand feature usage; monitor stability; and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your recordings to train artificial intelligence models.

03

Service providers

Third-party services

We use service providers to support specific parts of the app: Supabase to receive feedback submissions, PostHog for product analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. These providers process information on our behalf and according to their own privacy policies.

The app also relies on Apple and Google platform services to provide device permissions, local media storage, and app distribution.

04

Your choices and rights

Managing your information

You can control camera, microphone, and media-library access through your device settings. You can delete locally saved recordings from bold or by removing the app and its local data, subject to your device settings and backups.

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete information, or object to a particular use. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
